Some Light (rail) Reading
High Speed Rail has hear its fair share of criticism. Most of these critiques appeal to the ideal “American Dream” of home ownership with a yard and one or two cars. Unfortunately most of the criticism stem not from economic reality in the near and long term, but in imagined ideas that we must continue to fund our bulging auto-based system with the hundreds of billions of dollars we could spend on sustainable infrastructure.
